Hi,

i have installed a Nanostation M2 with our custom firmware. The nanostation is connected correctly at the router. The problem is that the wifi signal is very good but the speed is very low! My ISP provides 7 mega. When i connect the client to the router (wifi) the speed test measure 7 MB, when i connect the client (laptop, smartphone...) to nanostation M2 the speed test measure 1 MB.

What is the problem? Where you lose the speed?

Thank's for the support!

Hi,

Your location's limit is currently set at 512/128 which means the hotspot will limit the users's bandwidth once they are logged in. 1Mbps is above this limit, and will not be allowed. What site did you use to test the bandwidth speed?

Hi Marko,

To test the speed I used www.speedtest.net. If I understand correctly, having set 512/128 on location, speed is reduced. How can I improve the speed? Since I have 7 mega available?

Speed is limited by the default settings, this setting can be modified in teh control center. Click Manage-location- location number - Modify Free Package - and Modify Default Limits. Since WiFi is a shared medium the total 7Mb bandwidth will be divided between all concurrent users logged into the router.

Hi Marko,

I continue to have a problems. I have modify Default Limits in control center from 512/128 to 7000/400, but does not change anything.

If i connect cable have 6Mbs, if i connect to NanoStation have 0.30 Mbs bandwidth....

I have to set some parameters in your customize firmware for nanostation? The nanostation is broken?

Thank's!

It seems that the system needs a few minutes for the changes to take effect.  You should wait about 5 minutes after you make the changes and test again.
Also, are you sure you are going through the hotspot? You should get an ip address on the 192.168.182.0 network (by default). If you don't get this address, then chilli is not running.

If the router is set for DHCP, then 2 things can happen:
-it received an ip address from an upstream router, in that case you can check the DHCP leases on the upstream router to find its ip address.
-it was not connected to an upstream router, or did not receive an ip address, and the router used its fall back DHCP address. By default this is 192.168.1.20, but you can try 192.168.10.1, or the ip address that was configured for the fallback address.
