Hi there,
Hope you can clarify some doubts..
Scope: LINKSYS WRT54GL ver 1.1 router, Flashed sucessfully for  code HotSpotWRT/CoovaAP, I can see the router at my location on hotspotsystem.com, but when I access the router as a user the start page doesn't appear, it skips directly to internet even if everything looks fine at HOTSPOT configuration section in the router, and Settings like DNS are correct, etc.

Also I have another WRT54GL flashed sucessfully for code DD-WRTv24 Nokaid/Standard/Mega/Special, again, everything looks fine at the HotSpot router configuration, and Settings like DNS, are correct etc.

I wonder if WRT54GL is still elegible for hotspot function, or what is happening?

(Weeks ago I configure a LINKSYS WRT320N.  I dont have any problem, everything works fine. There is the Start Page when connected.)

I'll appreciate any comment.

Thank You.

Hi,

We have not had any problems with the WRT54GL, in fact it is a very reliable router to use.

First I will need you to tell me what the ip address is that the routers give you when connecting?

What is the build number of DD-wrt that you are using on the 2nd router? Did you use the built in or the command based setup method?

The right ip address you should get is 192.168.182.X.  At this point you should see the splash page when trying to navigate to the internet. If not, then check to see if you have a DNS server configured. You can use your ISP's DNS server, or Google's free server of 8.8.8.8.   If properly configured, a ping should resolve: ping hotspotsystem.com

Also check that you are able to ping our server: 195.228.254.149. If not, then preform a trace route to see the last hop the traffic is getting blocked at.

Regards,

Marko
