I tried configuring a Free Basic hotspot on my WRT400N using the directions provided on this site but it resulted in an inability to access the internet via wifi. Additionally, I lost the ability to connect to the router via ethernet. Following a router reset, I tried again with the factory settings but had the same result. My router did not appear in the Device List and Hotspot System didn't send me a success email.  :(

I'm using DD-WRT v24-sp2 std (build 15704). Any suggestions? Should I try a different DD-WRT build? Thanks!

Also, my only option for DHCP Interface under Services > Hotspot was "LAN". Is that normal?

Thanks!
Libertie

I'm having trouble with that build myself, same as 15778. I recommend you flash the router with build 14311, it has proven stable for me.

The LAN interface means that the seting will apply to both wired and wireless interfaces of the router. You can separate these interfaces by creating a virtual interface:  http://hotspotsystem...=6778-RFZX-2714

I'm having all sorts of problems with both a dlink 615 and a tp-link tl- r740n. I've tried different dd-wrt builds but none of them seem to work with your system. Can you advise on a cheap recent wireless router (not linksys) and a dd-wrt build that DEFINATELY works with your system. I've wasted hours on trying to get these 2 routers working to no avail!

Thanks, Marko! I'll give that a try this weekend :)

I can recommend the Ubiquiti brand routers, or the Linksys Wrt54gl. They are both reliable. Linksys works better with DDwrt, and almost all DDwrt builds support that router.

Fabulous! That worked great. Next question: what does it mean if I can't see an "Add account" link on the Manage Master Accounts page? I tried loading the page in several different browsers but all it says is "You have no Master Accounts defined yet." Thanks again!

The master account feature is not available for BASIC users. You would need to upgrade to BASIC+. Click this link to see a comparison of features: http://hotspotsystem...sic-en.inc.html
