Hi folks, there are language issues with the splash pages and I am thinking about having my own splash page.

My actual system settings:

Languages: 3 - german, italian, english / standard is german

The issues:

1 language issues

1. The splash page in neither language selection does display entirely in choosen language. The "Get your free access code via SMS" notice always is in english.

2. After the mobile number has been entered and the request send, the login page displays in language not equal to the one choosen by user. It always displays in the system set standard language.

How to solve this issues?

2 Own splash page

1. I have to link back to hotspotsystems.com for user to get access and login, but I do not want to. I have done custom hosted splash page with other systems. Meraki for example gives me the following option: http://www.meraki.co...m splash URL#kb

How do I solve this?

Thank you, Peter

Hello,

we will check the language specific problems.

For #2, the link you sent gives 122 results, so i don't know what you meant. We are offering a hosted solution, splash pages are not stored on the router, they come from our servers. If you would like to customize the splash pages you need to use our skin management system to edit the html code.

Choose "MR Wireless" and under "score solution title" see the first 2 results on top - 1. splash page html and 2. custom hosted splash page -

And yes, I know the router is not the place where pages are stored on. I could, but this is out of scope. I look for my self hosted splash page on own domain, whitout the need to link back to your system. The hole user intercation process takes place on my domain on my pages.

As far as i can see Meraki only offers this for click through login pages and username/password login pages. They don't offer to host files on your servers which are for buying pay per use packages online for example.

If you need a click through login page, you can host your files on your servers and you just have to include a page from our servers in an iframe with our solution too.

Someone has the freedom to choose on authentication and how to charge for access. In case of self hosted pages and own radius servers any payment option can be integrated and the meraki cloud system is used for device management only.

There is another language specific issue I did not mention. The message that pops up when requesting access codes over SMS displays in english only and here is no option to modify message content nor language.

Yes i understand this, but as far as i can see you can only use your own self hosted pages for login and click through authentication.

About language specific issues: some sentences are available in english only as noone translated those sentences yet in other languages. If you can do a translation we can replace those language and message text easily for you. Otherwise you have to wait while we find some translators for this.
