I have already ran the command. And once enable the hotspotsystem from Buffalo>>Service>>hotspot. Do I need to turn of my WPA secruity and SSID settings, or is there something else I am missing. All I want is for guests to logon and be prompted with splash page with terms and agreement accpetance. Nothing else for now, if it work then I can upgrade for payments.

The settings are fine.  Connect to the router with telnet and see if chili is running, if not try to start it and let me know if you get an error: http://hotspotsystem...=7681-YOAN-6356

If it is running, check to see what the ip address you get when connecting to the router?

you can start chilli with
chilli -c /tmp/hotss.conf
or chilli -c /tmp/chilli.conf  for olderbuilds.

The router has to be connected to the internet for chilli to be able to start!

Segmentation fault means that the build will not work due to a glitch.  I suggest that you either try to flash the router with build 14311 or try to manually add the chillispot settings as per this article (reset the router to factory defaults first)  http://hotspotsystem...=6681-USDK-3810

Still no go. I tried manually installing chillspot. I am able to connect to router but not internet. I get a yellow exclamation sign in my network settings. Is there a easier way to help from you, I feel this forum will take longer time and energy  than you helpin live via chat or remotely?

A yellow sign does not necessarily mean the connection is not working. It normally will display a restricted connection message, or further login required. You should try a different build, use 14311 if you can find it for your router.   We have to stay with this method to help you, as for Hotspot Basic account users we provide support through the forums.

How do I try a different build?
Also if I upgrade my service, how quickly can we get this resolved. I will upgrade my account to get this resolved ASAP, can you remotely help me do this, or would the upgrade basically be this forum but via live chat?!

If you upgrade you get live chat support and limited telephone/remote desktop support.   To flash the router you need to login the admin and navigate to the administration/flash firmware and select the firmware you downloaded from DD-wrt.com.  You can select a specific build with the "supported by"  pull down menu. The procedure is the same as when you 1st flashed the router, except now you only need the standard generic image, as in the setup guide:  http://hotspotsystem...ide_dd-wrt.html

You should reset the router's setting when upgrading.

Ok, well the build I have now is17798. That is not seen on the dd-wrt.com.  It has "supported by" build 14896, and 14402. Which one of these do I download and are they compatible with that I have now for my router. Additionally I never flashed my router before, is that the initial problem?

you say limited telephone/remote desktop support..will the upgrade service get me to the point I would like to get. Just to get this Hotspot up and running with a simple free splash page.

Thanks

There are no guarantees that a paid subscription will get you up and running.  You already have ddwrt installed, but since the build seems flawed, you need to flash the router again. Make sure that the router is running a big, mega or standard generic image.  Since the current build did not work for you, I suggest 14402 out of the ones you mentioned. You should reset the router and configure it again using these instructions:  http://hotspotsystem...ide_dd-wrt.html

So it I tried to flash it router. It went to successful screen then it never reset. Now the diagonse light is constant on, and reset and hard reset doesn't work... is this what they call bricked?!
If so how to resolve this.
And if not not do you provided a pre-programed router that you may sell?

Ok I guess I found the answer to the last question. Hot spot in a Box for about $165 plus shipping...now will that straight out of the "box" do what I need it to do for basic functions. And the $100 worth vouchers would only be redeemable if if sign up for pro, correct?

Hot spot in a Box will be completely configured. You simply need to plug it in. The vouchers are only for PRO.  If you have any special requests regarding instalaltion then please add them to the notes section of the order.
