I need to setup similar to this Toyota dealer below.  I represent two Toyota stores

http://www.germainle...oyota/index.htm

I need to know what package each store needs to sign up for and instruction how in dd-wrt firmware to point to the page.  I will be contacting a 3rd party to host the page like the one above

The package you need depends on how you would like to provide internet for your users after you redirect them to your own hosted web page.

1. If you want your users to pay for the internet access after they are forwarded to your page, then you need Hotspot PRO.

2. If you want your users to get a free access after they are forwarded to your page, then you need Hotspot FREE. If you want to give them vouchers you need the Hotspot FREE with Vouchers package, if you just want them to accept terms and conditions, then you need Hotspot FREE SPLASH.

3. If you don't want to give internet connection at all, and you just want to show your page to your customers, you can do it with Hotspot FREE SPLASH.

Basically you need to set up a walled garden. The instructions can be found here:

The instruction are confusing to me sorry.  I see the UAM allowed field and I tried putting my URL , but it locked my router up and had to hard reset it.  I understand the next steps I do not see those prompts in my buffalo router with dd-wrt firmware

  • Go to HotSpot Locations > Click on the location's name > Copy the setup command
  • Paste and Run the setup command again from the router's admin page

This is URL I used in UAM   http://banners.seteventshowroom.com/camrywifi/#

You don't have to put the full URL into the UAM allowed field. Only the domain name.

You have to enter the full URL in the Control Center, under Manage > Locations > Click on name > Modify Hotspot Data > SET CUSTOM SPLASH PAGE (WALLED GARDEN).

The instructions in the knowledgbase says:

Quote

In the UAM allowed field, enter: www.yoursite.com (your domain where your special page is hosted, ONLY THE DOMAIN NAME!)

Thanks for hanging in there with me.  Okay I now am beginning to understand the instructions.  I modify the control panel at Hotspots, but I am having trouble with the steps in the router:

Go to Services > Hotspot, then:

  • Special Settings > ENABLE

  • Display Login on Splash Page (Combined) > UNCHECK

  • I have a "logon splash page"  the option is "Enable or Disable box"  if I choose enable I cannot check (walled garden)  If I do check disable I can check the wall garden box input the domain name, but after saving these settings when go to do a test from the wireless connection I get an error page from the dd-wrt firmware   "Error: you must enable "login on Splash page' under special settings when you set the router if you are using dd-wrt with build in setup

  • Custom Splash Page (Walled Garden) > CHECK
  • In the UAM allowed field, enter: www.yoursite.com (your domain where your special page is hosted, ONLY THE DOMAIN NAME!)

If there are no such settings in DD-WRT, then you can use the setup command method to re-setup your router:

  • Go to HotSpot Locations > Click on the location's name > Copy the setup command
  • Paste and Run the setup command again from the router's admin page

Hmm...DD-WRT firmwares can be tricky...

How about:

Display Login on Splash Page (Combined) > UNCHECK
Custom Splash Page (Walled Garden) > CHECK
In the UAM allowed field, enter: www.yoursite.com

You should't get the error now and you should be forwarded to your walled garden page.

Still having problems:  to check the Wall garden you have to check the box to "disable" the login splash page then you get no splash the default or custom.

I do not understand what the "combined feature you keeping mentioning. if you check enable login splash page then of course I get the default splash page from you service.  I am stuck could I send you some screen shots?

Roland,

I was ready to throw it against the wall it always the small stuff that trips you up. I had one wrong setting in the control center.  However is not 100 % is about 95 %.  When I open my browser I get the custom splash page, but on that page their is a link which coould take the person to another page for more information. The link attempts to work but defaults back to opening the splash page.  Any web page that you type in the  URL still brings up the splash page.  Any idea?.

Well, I guess that the link is going to an other domain. You need to add all external domain names to the uamallowed list, which is the list of domains that the user is allowed to visit before he/she logs in to the hotspot. All other pages which is not in the list redirect back the user to the start page.

I also find if I try to put more than one domain in the uallowed field the splash page fails.  So I am assuming i have desgin a splash page with link back to the hotspot login correct and what would the cold look like

With Hotspot FREE SPLASH you have to include the login form in your HTML using an iframe. This is described in the guide, step 3: http://www.hotspotsy...=3635-EGXV-1011

You can also skip this part if you don't want to provide internet connection at all, but you want to use the wifi for advertising your product or services.

In what form did you put multiple domains in the uamallowed field? It should be like:

www.domain1.com,www.domain2.com

Hello,

if you are a White Label operator then you can send us your own T&C and we will update it for you. You can also use the Skin Management to have your own T&C displayed, but in this case you need to have your own web server and put your T&C there, then link to it from the default splash page. In this case you also have to add your domain name to the allowed list.

Hello!
Why is iframe redirecting on my splash page instead on login page? I copied address from control center. Using dd-wrt!

You should use the special 'SPLASH Walled Garden' Skin if you are using Hotspot FREE SPLASH (now BASIC) with a walled garden setup.

Well I found out that build-in setup in dd-wrt works fine (walled garden) only with version 14311, but in version 14896 you have to use command prompt. But I still have problem with UAM alloved. My custome page works fine and google map iframe, but when I put facebook link (sends me to home) or youtube iframe doesn't work. I tried www.youtube.com or youtube.com and www.facebook.com or facebook.com in form that you suggest in previous post. How many free domains can I use for UAM allowed?

Well, in our installation guide we write: "WARNING: DO NOT DOWNLOAD BUILD 14896 (or around), DATE IS 2010-08, BECAUSE IT HAS BUGS WITH THE BUILT-IN SETUP."

The problem with uamallowed sites in dd-wrt is that dd-wrt checks the IP address of the site when chillispot starts, and the IP gets whitelisted. But Facebook and lots of other big sites are using dynamic IP addresses which are changing constantly so the IP could be different when chilli starts and when the user wants to access the site.

All other firmwares and hardwares can deal with this problem but dd-wrt cannot because it contains chillispot and not coovachilli.
