Yes, I know the knowledge base has an article on it and redirection is already possible, in DD-WRT in the GUI, and with some clever IPTABLES on other devices. But where to direct to? This is about the server, not the redirection.

As we all know, some people still have their client configured without TLS/SSL, expecting an open SMTP server, which thanks to spambots are now only open when they are on their home ISP's network. The knowledgebase instructs me to redirect port 25 to my own ISP's open SMTP server.

But my ISP does not not have an open SMTP server, they only allows TLS/SSL connections. Which in itself is good and proper, but where to redirect my hotspot clients?

I know of no wrapper program that wraps open SMTP requests into a valid TLS or SSL SMTP request. If anyone knows of one like that (that runs on OpenWRT) please let me know.

So it would be nice if HotSpotSystem had an open SMTP server, one that does not rewrite 'reply-to' header, and probably one that is secured to only accept SMTP requests either through the tun0 (so redirect port 25 to 192.168.182.1:25), or from known hotspot IP addresses (if through the open internet).

Any suggestions?
