The following setup is based on Firmware version 4.04b01.

Ensure that no timezone is configured and that the router uses GMT/UTC time.

Under Basic Network – WAN, configure your WAN for Internet access.

Under Basic Network – WiFi, configure your WiFi Access Point. For Authentication select Auto or Open and for Encryption select None.

Under Basic Network – Client/Server, create a new DHCP server.
- DHCP 2, with adifferent IP address range from DHCP 1.
- Reboot the router when prompted.

Under System – External Servers, create a UAM Server with the following settings:

  • Server Name: hotspotsystem
  • Server IP/FQDN: www.hotspotsystem.com
  • Server port: (leave blank)
  • Login URL: https://customer.hotspotsystem.com/customer/hotspotlogin.php
  • Shared Secret: hotsys123
  • NAS/Gateway ID: Operator Username used for access to the Hotspotsystem Control Center
  • Location ID: Numeric value of the Location ID created on the Hotspotsystem Control Center
  • Location name: Location Name created on the Hotspotsystem Control Center
  • Server: check Enable
  • Under System – External Servers, create a RADIUS Server with the following settings:

  • Server Name: Radius
  • Server IP/FQDN: radius.hotspotsystem.com
  • Server port: (leave blank)
  • Primary Shared Key: hotsys123
  • Primary Authentication Protocol: CHAP
  • Secondary Shared Key: hotsys123
  • Secondary Authentication Protocol: CHAP
  • Shared Secret: hotsys123
  • Server: check Enable
  • Under Applications – Captive Portal, configure the following settings:

  • Captive Portal: check Enable
  • WAN Interface: WAN1 or the WAN interface to be used by the Captive Portal
  • LAN Subnet: DHCP 2 or DHCP server created in STEP 3.
  • Authentication Server: select External RADIUS Server and the Radius server created in STEP 5.
  • UAM Server: check Enable and select the UAM server created in STEP 4.
  • Under Basic Network – LAN/VLAN, change the DHCP server for VAP 1 (or the WiFi Access Points for which you want to use the Captive Portal) to DHCP 2 (or the DHCP server created in STEP 3).

    Reboot to make sure that settings persist and test your new Hotspotsystem Captive Portal.
